Scott Wallace of Naturally Wallace based in the USA, has become an advisor and process engineer to ARM Ltd.

World renowned expert on the design of constructed wetland systems, Scott has been working with constructed wetlands for over 25 years consulting on a wide variety of projects throughout the USA, Canada and Israel and is registered as a professional engineer in 22 States in the USA.

Scott has been active in research and development and holds 5 patents on wastewater treatment systems including Forced Bed Aeration (FBATM). Engineering wetlands to treat high strength effluents, FBATM has been used to remove glycol from surface water runoff produced by the Aviation industry and effluents such as leachate produced from landfills, and effluent produced by the petrochemical industry.

Scott has written numerous technical papers on treatment wetlands and presented them at international conferences. He is the author of several books including the second edition of Treatment Wetlands in conjunction with Robert Kadlec. Scott is an active member of the IWA Specialist Group on the Use of Macrophytes for Water Pollution Control and is a Constructed Wetland Association member.

The appointment of Scott Wallace will open up the application range of reed beds in the UK.  We are already working on our first project trialing FBATM reed beds to remove glycol used in de-icing planes.
